Eco-Friendly Notice Boards for the Sustainable Classroom
Classrooms are known for being places of chaos; particularly when you’re teaching younger students who are entertained by the mess that they manage to make. Paper is plentiful, everything is made of wood and plastic, and it’s hard enough to clean up without going through each individual piece of trash to figure out whether or not you need to recycle it.
To make the life of a teacher just a little easier and take some of the typical plastic out of a school, eco-friendly notice boards have been designed and developed. They’re becoming a popular alternative to standard plastic-edged notice boards, and they are much more aesthetically pleasing, too.
The usual eco-friendly notice board has wooden edges for its frame (most of the time, this wood is oak), though some also have aluminium metal edges. Wood and aluminium are both resources that are easy to recycle and reuse. Eco-friendly notice boards have frames and boards that are made from recycled materials or come from the scraps that are by-products of the timber industry. When the frames are made of wood or timber by-products, they may also be painted to match the colour of the board, itself. This makes for a unique, colourful, and attractive noticeboard.
Whichever frame you decide on, you can rest easy knowing that you’ve taken enough step to a more sustainable day-to-day life. Wooden frames are natural looking and can be painted, while aluminium frames look more professional. Choosing one may really depend on you and the age of your students; the older they are, the more likely you are to lean towards buying a more “grown-up” board to display their notices and their amazing work.
Eco-friendly notice boards come in a range of sizes from Red17: We offer sizes from 600mm x 900mm all the way up to 1200mm x 2400mm; and everything in between. Colour-wise, most boards with a wooden frame have fairly basic colours: green, natural cork, red, blue, grey, and black. But we also offer burgundy for wooden framed boards, as well. As for aluminium, the colours are a little different: purple, magenta, lilac, cyan, apple, and orange. These are just a few examples, and you’ll find many more when you start shopping with us.
Most of our eco-friendly notice boards are only suitable for indoor use at the moment, but there are others that would work outdoors. For example, our weatherproof notice boards are extremely eco-friendly (even if they aren’t part of our “Eco-colour notice board” range), and they’re great for displaying your well-designed notices outside of your classroom or in the entrance to your school.
